Description
The one mixer you need when you need a mixer that can handle anything–and operates like it was custom-built just for you. Capable of fantastic audio reproduction and loaded with high-end features, plus customizable control and configuration, the Behringer’s Wing-48 is your “personal,” 48-track digital mixing console. Because fully-featured digital mixers can be an overwhelming and intimidating experience, Behringer’s innovative new approach to digital mixing is intuitive and easy to understand. Additionally, with the potential to expand, connect, configure, and reconfigure workflow to suit your unique needs, the Behringer Wing is in a class of its own.
Unique audio Source treatment and grouping
Focusing on audio-origin type rather than a simple channel number assignment, this system emphasizes the unique treatment applied to each input “source.”
Each source (input) can have a variety of treatments assigned based on how you want to mix and enhance each signal. Apply Stereo, mono, or mid-side and add phantom power, set gain, meter, mute, and more with each incoming signal. Then, label each source with a name, icon, color, and several tags for specific grouping and filtering treatments. Now, you can apply each treatment to the type of audio source that you’re mixing in easily identifiable groups. With Behringer’s Wing Co-Pilot App, you can label Sources while patching on stage, regardless of whether the signal is patched to a channel, SD recording, or any other output, for instant source recognition.
The “personal” 48-channel digital mixer
Mixing old-school analog with modern digital mixer operation and DAW-like workflow, the Wing-48 is anything but an ordinary mixing console. The control surface utilizes a 10” flip-up capacitive touchscreen interface, touch-sensitive rotary controls, and 3 sections of 24 automated faders. Each fader section can be configured and reconfigured according to your needs. For instance, you can assign a specific bus-send fader alongside the corresponding channel fader or set up a dedicated channel for highly dynamic sources– like lead vocals or a soloist–right where you want it.
Editing and monitoring channel status and workflow couldn’t be any easier. With the touch-sensitive rotary controls, you can even work on selected channel processing while the main display is used for other functions. Alongside the central display screen, a section with 4 rotary encoders, 20 buttons, and 2 LCDs allows you to custom-tailor the most critical functions you need quick access to. The large rotary encoder can also be used for fine adjustments on up to 8 user parameters, remote USB DAW control, and more.
Studio Quality Tone Shaping and FX’s
Great sound begins with 8 XLR phantom power-equipped microphone inputs and outputs with pro-series MIDAS preamps for highly detailed vocal performances. All input channels feature LO, hi-cut filters, all-pass, tilt EQ, sound Maxer, and a 6-band parametric EQ. All buses, matrices, and mains also feature an 8-band parametric EQ plus 8 digital emulations of world-favorite hardware equalizers. Wings onboard FX’s rack tout 8 stereo processors with outstanding reverb using TC Electronics VSS3 algorithms, Lexicon, Quantec, and EMT emulations. For even more FXs, another set of 8 true-stereo processors features a wide range of modulation FX, EQ, Guitar Amp, speaker simulators for quiet stage applications, and more.
Massive Flexibility, Connectivity, and Expansion potential
With 48 stereo channels, including 8 dedicated high-performance XLR and 8 auxiliary ¼” TRS inputs for 16 analog inputs with 2 groups of gain-sharing, Wing’s Analog I/O can be utilized for outboard signals from media players or computers. Using the new Klark Teknik “StageConnect” interface, connect up to 32 channels of ultra-low latency 24-bit audio ins and outs over a single XLR cable. WING also provides 3 AES50 SuperMAC audio networking ports (for connecting digital stage boxes) or sharing up to 144 input/output streams with other mixing consoles. There are 48×48 channels of USB audio and another 64×64 channels of Audio
over IP (module optional), plus AES/EBU stereo I/O. The Wing expansion card slot can accommodate ADAT, MADI, DANTE, and WSG and offers another 64×64 audio channel in/out and so much more.
