This collaborative Custom Shop effort respects the legendary model’s visual appeal and hardware — while adding a bounty of under-the-hood enhancements for discerning modern players. A solid mahogany top and body represent the pinnacle of SG design, culminating in a classic white set mahogany neck, complete with onboard fretboard inlays for visual authenticity. The 1963 SG Custom further features a trio of Gibson’s CustomBucker pickups, along with two volume and two tone knobs, and a 3-way Switchcraft toggle for imperative tone sculpting. As Sweetwater guitarists know all too well, sourcing a real-deal ’60s SG can be a difficult task — thankfully, the 1963 SG Custom is a dutiful replication of its entirety, harboring zero of the hassle.
